JCM 428 is a writing course designed to familiarize students with the function of editorial opinion and to develop your editorial writing skills. Topics to be covered in the course include editorial functions, editorial thinking, editorial writing, review writing, history of editorial writing, its present status, the contemporary editorial page, opinion columns, letters to the editor, reviews (travel, restaurant, book, movie, events), and personal experience essays. The course will be conducted along the lines of a professional workshop and will use a combination of lectures, discussions, article critiques, and writing exercises.
