The Blount Leopards took on the Hillcrest Patriots for the Girls' Basketball Elite Eight game on Feb. 20.
Towards the beginning of the game, Antoria Childress ties up the game, making it 7-7. Just seconds before the end of the second quarter, Damaya Riley-George stole the ball and scored a two-pointer, putting the Leopards in the lead at 18-11 at the beginning of halftime.
In the second half, the Patriots came out fighting. A'nyah Banks scored a three-pointer from the corner of the court, putting the Patriots within five points of the Leopards. Next, Patriot player Jada Richards scores, making it a three point game.
Blount kicked it into high gear, and Riley-George scored again. The final score was 48-28, sending the Leopards to the semi-finals.
Blount will take on defending champion, Hazel Green, on Feb. 27.
